Hashtag Survival staff and community members have generated a small list of subgenres for the survival game ‘umbrella.’ Read the names and descriptions listed here!
Otherwise, you won’t know what the fuck each subgenre means.
Players
PvP games support & encourage Player vs. Player encounters through mechanics & included features. In contrast, games with the option to toggle On/Off Friendly Fire can allow a player to play a non-PvP title in a PvP fashion. It can also make PvE combat realistic by permitting damage from allies or group members.
Player Engagement
We encourage players to check the Steam Store page for each title to determine whether a multiplayer game will support a specific gameplay style with a friend or group.
