Mist Survival has been around since 2018, a million years in the age of Early Access cash grabs & asset flips. Wading through the copious amount of Steam reviews can leave one confused as to whether the game is worth the cash or even the current status of the game. You know my mantra- Early Access games get a lot of slack from me! So I won’t dwell on glitches, bugs, or wonky mechanics because shit like that constantly changes in development- it’ll get better, or worse, or change entirely.
I think for 11 bucks and a 2-hour Steam return window, you can pick the sucker up and see how you feel about the game. Not me, not Streamer A or YouTuber B. Unless they’re going to come to squirrel your ass around the map, in which case, I guess you can reference their thoughts on it? It's a thumbs up from me for my time played thus far.
Outside of the actual gameplay, I wish the developer had a more organized approach to community engagement, as the Steam forums and Discord could be more organized. A big part of the game's hostile reception is the need for consistent developer feedback/transparency, and that little change could go a long way toward garnering positive feedback.
Either way, when the developer does post updates, the shit he's working on looks great, at least in concept/development.
