Don’t forget your sanity and your health, however, as it is all that keeps you alive.
- You are in a world full of secrets. Everything around you contains traces of the past. You can wander through these areas and learn recipes that will allow you to craft new items. Discover unique places in Root Mountains which is all of these places has so many unique Items!
- Our game’s unique weather variations give players the chance to create their own dynamic stories of survival. Gain an advantage in challenging conditions, choose when to head out and how the weather might affect your journey. The Day and Night cycle plays an integral part in the game too, with the environments, enemies, and strange anomalies all affected by this system.
- You can explore and survive as a lone wolf, or team up and experience the whole adventure in co-op, with up to 3 of your friends!
At this point, it's hard to know precisely how survival mechanics will factor into Nowhere: Mysterious Artifacts. The store page text on Steam covers your essential survival genre mainstays: explore, 'survive the elements and dangers', modular building, etc. Unfortunately, no UI or HUD details are shown in the videos uploaded by the development team, so it's hard to know if there are typical genre requirements like food, water, and sleep. In the video, the player character appears to mess with a fire to cook and lay down to sleep, but that's about as much detail as I've gotten. The developers have called it a 'survival horror' title, but it may be more multifaceted than the usual "don't die."
I'll update this as we learn more.
As I mentioned in the Survival Aspects tab, there's limited information on the game. However, as a long-time survival genre player, I can infer that specific mechanics or requirements might exist based on the small amount of footage shown in their development video. It's been labeled by the developers as a "survival horror." However, it seems like it will be more intricate in scope than specific titles like Forewarned or Phasmophobia. In an interview with 80LV, it was mentioned that the game was heavily inspired by the developer's love of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. I will update this as more information is released.
