I’m a big fan of lists, so let’s do it!
- The Discord link from their official Steam page leads to a tiny Discord server mostly filled with bot spam in multiple channels. Shit like “THREE MONTHS FREE DISCORD!!111” and stuff like that.
- The Twitter link you can follow from their official Steam page has yet to tweet anything about the game since the failed IndieGoGo campaign was back in August/September of 2020. While it posted some Project D-related shit back in October of 2020, it also spent far more time retweeting random bullshit, memes, and spam.
- Where did the 2024 planned release date come from, given that funding was never achieved? They did post to the Steam forums back in Oct 2020 (post IndieGoGo campaign) that due to “device problems related to corona,” they were postponing the announcement of any release date to 2021. Given that that didn’t happen, I will assume this is dead in the water. There’s a website supposedly linked to the Steam page, but all sorts of blocker addons I have on my browser REALLY didn’t want me to open it- so I didn’t.
- When you start throwing the game title into search engines, you end up with hits on the failed IndieGoGo campaign, where they hoped to raise 80k (??) and made $379. While failed drives are typical in the indie game development niche, there is a strange disconnect between the amount of money they want with the quality/quantity of the game info provided. Ever play WoW and come across those guilds in Trade Chat that DO EVERYTHING?! This was like that; CRAFT AND BUILD AND BOSSES AND PETS AND HORSES AND CARS AND MULTIPLAYER AND SINGLEPLAYER AND FARMING AND CUSTOMIZABLE CHARACTER. There didn’t seem to be any concrete path- no roadmap, no “this is the breakdown of the money or how we need it/would like to apply it.”
