This update spans from June 26th to July 13th. Join the Discord or follow the Twitter account for time sensitive updates!
Escape the Pacific- With the release of the Alpha 60 update, the developers are taking some well earned time off. They’ve released this handy breakdown of the update plans for the rest of summer and moving into fall. Did ya know that the developers will sometimes stream (and post recordings!) to help folks with shit that may be hard for players? I snagged the game on Summer sale- just need to find time to play!
Night of the Dead- The developers posted a ton of visual goodies in Dev Blog #3, definitely worth checking out! Just maybe not if you’re squeamish. I’m going to nudge Dee on this one- hopefully we can pick it up next sale and get a review done!
DYSMANTLE- An upcoming content patch – slated for the end of August- will bring a ton of new content to the game. Keep an eye out for the release notice of the upcoming Underworld DLC.
Fractured Veil- The developers are still slamming out tons of visually impressive updates and content fodder for the folks currently in Alpha on one of the backer waves. My wave hasn’t been called yet. I’m dead inside. Follow their socials or Discord to catch the visuals.
Beyond Contact- There’s something about an updated & graphically pleasing Roadmap that gets me right in the feels.
Forever Skies– An interesting breakdown on the importance of vertical gameplay.
Tribe: Primitive Builder- If this game fizzles out, I won’t be shocked at all. They went from complete radio silence much of 2021, to a handful of monthly blog posts mid/end of 2021, a Q&A in Jan of 2022, more silence and then they “lost their Discord” in March (how the fuck does that even happen???), and now this tiny blog update thing.
Derelicts- All I can really say is kill it with fire.
Last Oasis- The overhaul to the game continues, but this post from the game designer is worth a read since it starts with “the game sucks”. There’s been a lot of drama from the limited beta testing so far and the results are mixed.
Far North- Developer blog number 5 and the name of the game is performance updates and new stuffs.
Project Zomboid- Patch 41.72 is now live on the Unstable Branch and details on how to access that branch are in their announcement. You can find the big ass list of stuff on their website forum posted changelist.
Icarus- Honestly this post is so chunky -full of details, new shit, and upcoming plans- that you just need to click and read it yourself.
Survisland- This game is alive again! Sorta. After basically disappearing from development back in 2020, they popped a tech demo up in December of 2021, explaining the time away as “reworking the game and putting it on a new engine”. 7 months later they’re back again with another tech demo.
Hold Your Own- You may have remembered, a zillion Roundups ago, that a newcomer to the game development scene has taken over working on the game. The fruits of his labor– game Version 10- is now available for testing on the experimental branch. This was closely followed by a 10.0.3 patch update, requiring another restart.
SCUM- First and foremost the game is on sale for 40% off until July 18th, which means you should GET IT. Anyway. SCUM is continually pushing out new content, from the Danny Trejo DLC, to this meaty patch which included some hefty changes to fishing, and *slaps the roof of the Roundup* this patch fits so so many guns in, it breaks your mind.
Forewarned- Some quality of life updates under the hood. I’m most excited for the ability to choose your map, though I have to say OMG DEE THEY’RE BUFFING THE LIGHT SOURCES, MAYBE WE CAN SEE THINGS.
